The SS-ISB-CB-M IP69K Trapped Key Isolation Control Switch with Contact Block operates on the principle that when the key is “trapped” the contacts are made and the power is “on”.
When the key is removed the safety contacts are broken and power is “off”.
Once the key is returned and placed into the control switch the safety contacts in the contact block are then re-made and power is then re-applied .
With a Stainless Steel 316 housing the SS-ISB-CB-M IP69K Control Switch is suitable for SIP and CIP cleaning processes with high pressure hosing with detergents at high temperatures.
IDEM’s SS-ISB-CB-M IP69K Control Switch is normally the first part of the Trapped Key System.
This is where the isolator key in the Trapped Key System “lives” – when the isolator key is “locked” in the SS-ISB-CB-M power is provided to the equipment.
When the key is turned and removed the power to the equipment is removed.
The removed isolator key can now be inserted in the next part of the Trapped Key System, i.e. Key Exchange Block or into a single component such as a Handle Interlock. Until the isolator key is returned to the Isolator Switch power to the equipment cannot be restored.
